HISHIPLATE™ FM4910 PVC Sheets

Introduction

HISHIPLATE™ FM4910 PVC sheets are specification tested under the stringent Flammability & Smoke test protocols of FM4910 (in FM Approvals) for Cleanroom Materials. These materials have been formulated to resist burning, self-extinguish and prevent the formation and propagation of smoke and fire. The FM4910 test standard measures the Fire Propagation Index (FPI) - an indicator of the material’s tendency to ignite and propagate fire, and the Smoke Damage Index (SDI) - an indicator of the amount of smoke generated by the material during burning.

New and retrofitted cleanrooms are increasingly installed with wet benches, cabinets (CDS, VMB), chemical fume ducts and ancillary components with FM4910 approved materials. Semiconductor and LCD manufacturers using HISHIPLATE™ FM4910 PVC materials do not need certain additional and costly fire protection systems, while enjoying lower insurance premiums for their facilities. In the unfortunate event of a fire, injury risks and damage to the facility are greatly reduced and likewise the downtime and financial impact will be lowered.

Features

  • FM4910 provides a higher level of fire safety than the UL94 protocol.

  • Wide FM4910 product range enables cost-effective designs that are more closely
    tailored to actual requirements.

  • Good workability similar to non-FM sheets enables more reliable fabrication outcomes.

  • Wide chemical resistance to acids, alkalies and many other chemicals, and is the most cost-effective option for glazing

  • NEWTECH™ FM series with high gloss and gloss-retention enhances the finishing quality even after hot-welding/bending work.

  • NEWTECH™ FM allows for sheets of special long lengths to minimise welding joints and material waste.

  • 101 FM series caters for very thick sheets used in machining of parts.

Applications

  • Cleanroom wet benches and ancillary equipment in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other
    controlled manufacturing environments.

  • Cleanroom infrastructure such as VMBs, Chemical Delivery system cabinets, clear partitions, pass-through boxes, air-shower booths, etc.

  • Data Centre Cold-Aisle Containment partitions and doors

  • Equipment windows and enclosures that require flame-retardant, chemical resistant, non-shatter glazing, with or without antistatic property.
